One of the best things I’ve been told in life is that “we can do hard things”. As a therapist, I hold this belief to be so foundational for not only myself but for my clients. I truly believe in the power of coming together as a team, to walk alongside individuals as we navigate the hard things. These hard things can be anything that is making daily life exhausting, heavy, challenging, or more complicated than life can already be sometimes. Something really special that I bring into the therapy space is artmaking and creative expression; as many studies show, art is a powerful healing tool so as an Art Therapist as well as an AMFT, I use this creativity to hold space to navigate interpersonal dynamics, life changes, grief and loss, identity exploration, or to just spend time being present with yourself.

I really value co-creating the therapy space together and honoring a client’s unique experience, culture, as well as anything and everything that makes you, you. My own clinical background is rooted in destigmatization, relationship work, trauma-informed care, queer identity and experience, as well as early childhood trauma. As a queer therapist myself, holding intersectional identities and understanding how interwoven these hard things are into the different facets of ourselves is really important in my work with clients. Through using person-centered therapy (PCT) and the expressive arts continuum framework, we’ll work through hard things together using trust, compassion, empathy, and building a therapeutic environment that feels safe to explore.

My own training also includes resilience building through creativity, trauma work related to intimate partner violence and queer experiences, as well as perinatal and postnatal care. Something I’m also passionate about is working with individuals who are pregnant or who have recently given birth as they navigate changes to their family dynamics, emotional health, and physical wellbeing. Included in this work is my experience in dyadic therapy between a caregiver and their child.

My goal is to help individuals find more freedom in their lives and feel more connected to themselves and others. Through our time together, however long that might be, my hope is that each client is able to explore the many wonderful, scary, and hard layers that everyone holds. When I’m not wearing my therapist hat, I am probably in my overalls painting or at the ceramics studio. You can also find me reading multiple books at a time, rock climbing, enjoying nature, or spending lots of time in community with others (one of my favorite places to be).
