The grass is greener where you water it. As a therapist, I believe that the effort you put into yourself, and relationships, directly correlates to the way you perceive the world around you and your experiences. I believe that caring for your mental health and spending energy intentionally are just a few ways that our perceptions and connections can be refined and enriched.
In my work, and my everyday life, I emphasize creating meaningful connections with others and improving the relationship with oneself. This may include self-care, self-talk, inner-child work, exploration of values, relationships with others, and so much more.
In graduate school, I received specialized training in grief and bereavement therapy which included work with areas like caregiving, depression, anxiety, trauma, and familial relationships for all ages. In my work with grief, I received training for working with children and teens on different areas of the grief process. I also led Grief 101 courses educating on the process and evolution of grief.
When working with clients I like to utilize a variety of approaches including attachment, internal family systems, and person-centered. I also pull techniques from cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, narrative, and solution-focused therapies.
My goal for clients is to provide space and tools for my clients to pour energy back into themselves and their relationships.
When I am not in the therapy space, I enjoy connecting with my friends and family, reading fantasy novels, practicing my French, taking ballet classes, and spending time with my dog Lucy. I am also on a mission this year to try as many new hobbies and experiences as possible!
